Artists such as Chris Tomlin, Hillsong United, David Crowder and Fee are just a few of those highlighted from the live recording at the Passion 2010 conference in Atlanta, Ga. From the mellow and more traditional pieces to the more contemporary hits, this CD will appeal to audiences of all ages.
"Following one of our most potent gatherings, I couldn't be more excited about our latest release, Passion: Awakening," said Louie Giglio, founder and director of Passion.
Selections such as "Healing in Your Hands," by Christy Nockels and "With Everything," by Hillsong United add a rich tone to the album that beautifully tugs at your spirit and awakens your heart.
However, it is stand-out tracks such as "Rise and Sing," "Like a Lion," and "Chosen Generation" that set this album on fire. Topping off the list, "Chosen Generation," is the battle cry on one of several of Chris Tomlin tracks. With a variety in tempo, this track is a perfect mood lifter. Once you hear the beat and tempo, it is hard not to want to start tapping your toes along with its infectious rhythms.
Catching my attention, in an amazing way, "Like a Lion," by David Crowder immediately draws you into the album with fast-paced guitars joined by an entire instrumentation, including understated drums and bass guitar. This selection lifts you off your feet and leaves you floating in the air during a breakdown where all the instruments slowly fade and Crowder sings, "Let Heaven roar, let fire run down, come shake the ground with the sounds of revival."
"Rise and Sing," a brilliant offering from Atlanta-based rock band Fee offers a modern and upbeat tone to the Passion: Awakening album. Roaring energy and thriving lyrics dance vividly around heavy guitars that compliment a steady bass line.
Passion: Awakening is the complete package for anyone seeking a new and refreshing worship album to add to their library. With 12 emotionally-charged selections, including a slightly altered version of David Crowder's "How He Loves Us," cover, this album offers an experience that will not be found anywhere else.
