Assaulting the crowd with a raging fit of metal provided a great introduction to the lineup, and California-based 2 Cents wasted no time introducing their sound to unsuspecting future fans. The intensity and passion this band puts forth in their stage show is what truly catches the audience's attention. From dueling guitar riffs, to uncensored rants about the current state of the music business, 2 Cents was a solid opening act for the War is the Answer Tour.
From the very first note of New Jersey-based metal band God Forbid, they had the crowd eating out of their hands and slowly losing their grip on whatever sanity they had left. A frenzy of sound poured from the speakers while lead vocalist Byron Davis stalked around the stage spilling lyrics from his mouth. Taking some time to spotlight new material, that the crowd went wild for, God Forbid stole a big piece of the tour leaving the crowd wanting more.
Building anticipation for the main act, Shadows Fall, a Massachusetts-based metal band, easily stole the entire show with true rocker style. The band is a part of a very small group of metal bands that take their lyrical inspiration from Eastern philosophy and mix it with traditional metal beats and instrumentations. With the lead singer's screams pouring through his almost floor-length dread locks and bombastic guitar riffs, Shadows Fall provided the crowd with an unforgettable experience.
Following a night of pure metal, Five Finger Death Punch grabbed hold of the crowd and delivered a powerful set. One simple fact can be said about Five Finger Death Punch, and that is, when stripped away from record deals and stage dressings, this group of men have mastered their respective instruments, and put together some of the most well thought out and executed music in metal music today. However, the darkness and hopelessness present in the bands lyrics take away from their superb talent and sound.
With insane bass, drum and almost unbelievable guitar playing, Five Finger Death Punch took what was left of the crowd's sanity and flushed it down the toilet.
