Richland theater lighting designer, alum dies

Christian Bay-Andersen, lighting designer at Richland College, died in his sleep the weekend of Feb. 6-7, just a a few days before his 45th birthday, according to Chuck Sheffield, professor of theater. Bay-Andersen was a former Richland student in the early 1980s. (4) comments

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A retired fire department employee in North Carolina is the winner of Saturday's Powerball lottery jackpot. Frank Griffin of Asheville came forward Monday to claim his prize. The lump sum payment is about $47 million after taxes. The 66-year-old owns a janitorial services company and used to be a driver and engineer for the Asheville Fire Department. (0) comments
